Alonso Casajús, Nora

Biologist

Nora Alonso Casajús (Navarra, 1975) holds a BSc in Biology (1999) and a Diploma in Basque Studies (2004) from the University of Navarra, a PhD in Biology (Summa cum laude) from the Public University of Navarra (2005) and a Master’s Degree in Business Management and Administration from the IMF Business School (UPNA, 2016).

From 2005 until 2019 she was Director-General of Iden Biotechnology S. L., a company she co-promoted and co-founded and whose Board of Directors she chaired until January 2015. She is currently an external advisor to companies and funds in the agri-food sector, and is a partner of the company ADN Services.

She started her professional career as a pre-doctoral intern at the Genetics laboratory of the UPNA in the line of research called “Development of molecular markers based on microsatellites and the ribosomal ITS DNA region for the phylogenetic analysis and identification of strains in the Pleurotus ostreatus basidiomycota” (June 2000-June 2002). She was later a pre-doctoral intern at the Institute of Agrobiotechnology of the UPNA in the line of research called “Factors involved in the regulation of starch and glucogen production in plants and bacteria” (June 2002- June 2005).

Nora Alonso was a young corresponding member of Jakiunde from November 2016 until 2021. The 12 November 2021 she was elected corresponding member of Jakiunde.
